🇲🇰 North Macedonia: “Here I Stand” Release Time Confirmed

Vasil has confirmed the release time for his Eurovision entry “Here I Stand” on March 11.

“Here I stand”, Vasil’s entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 is set to be revealed this coming Thursday. The singer confirmed on Instagram today that the song will be released at 18:00 CET with its music video released on the official Eurovision YouTube page.

Preparations for Eurovision as well underway with Vasil having filmed his backup performance in Belgrade. He also filmed his postcard at the MRT studios in Skopje, which will be shown at the contest.

“Here I Stand” was written and composed by Vasil and recorded in Skopje with a live orchestra. The backing vocals will come from the Children’s Choir in Chicago, in which Vasil took part during his childhood. Borce Kuzmanovski and Davor Jordanovski produced and composed the song.

Vasil was set to perform “You” last year in Rotterdam in the 2020 edition of the song contest. The contest was canceled due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.

North Macedonia debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1998, however, two years earlier they attempted to participate but was knocked out in the pre-qualifying round. In 2016 they were represented by Kaliopi for a second time with the song “Dona”, she missed out on the final finishing in 11th in her semi-final. North Macedonia’s best result to date is a 7th place finish in the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest represented by Tamara Todevska and the song “Proud”.
