Just under 1.1 million viewers watched the Final of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020 on La 1.
Interest in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest has dropped by over 400,000 views year on year. On Sunday evening an average of 1,082,000 viewers tuned into La 1 to watch Spain compete in Junior Eurovision 2020 with a viewing share of 7.4%. This is a drop from 1,487,000 viewers for the 2019 contest in Gliwice which had a viewing share of 11.16%.
Viewing figures for Junior Eurovision 2020:
- France – 1.2 million – 7.3% share
- Spain – 1.082 million – 7.4% share
For a second year in a row Spain finished in third position at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Soleá performed “Palante” scoring atotal of 133 points, just 1 point ahead of 4th place the Netherlands. Overall Spain was 6th with the jury on 60 points and 2nd with the public scoring 73 points.

Spain first took part in the contest in 2003 and participated every year between then and 2006. In 2004, María Isabel brought Spain their only victory so far with “Antes muerta que sencilla”. After an absence of 13 years, Spain returned to the contest last year with “Marte” by Melani García. Spain have finished in the top 5 in all 6 of their attempts.
