BTRC has internally selected Arina Pehtereva to represent Belarus at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020 with the song ‘Aliens’.
Belarus is set to be represented by Arina Pehtereva at Junior Eurovision 2020 with the song ‘Aliens’. BTRC opted not to hold a televised selection and instead opted to internally select both their singer and song for the first time.
Arina explained about her song that:
The song was written in spring when the coronavirus spread around the world. The idea of my song is simple: The world has stopped, borders have closed, people can no longer visit each other and even the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020 is different. But I believe that the future is in our hands, and it is up to us children to save the world and make it better!
Arina Pehtereva is 12 years old and has been performing since she was six years old. She has attempted to represent Belarus at Junior Eurovision previously.

Their worst entry came from Egor Volchek and his song “Spjavajtse So Mnoj” in 2004, which received only 9 points. Belarus have placed in the top 3 a total of 5 times to date.
