Italy’s Diodato has won Okkar 12 Stig, answering the question who would have received Iceland’s 12 points at Eurovision 2020.
Last night RUV held Okkar 12 Stig to find out which song would have received the Icelandic 12 points at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. The over 2 hour show featured a number of performances from past Eurovision entrants, plus a guest appearance from Will Ferrell who revealed the winner of the contest.
The results were as follows:
- Italy – Diodato – Fai rumore – 12 points
- Russia – Little Big – Uno – 10 points
- Lithuania – The Roop – On Fire – 8 points
- Denmark – Ben & Tan – Yes – 7 points
- Bulgaria – Victoria – Tears Getting Sober – 6 points
- Sweden – The Mamas – Move – 5 points
- Azerbaijan – Efendi – Cleopatra – 4 points
- Switzerland – Gjon’s Tears – Repondez-moi – 3 points
- Austria – Vincent Bueno – Alive – 2 points
- The Netherlands – Jeangu Macrooy – Grow – 1 point
The United Kingdom, Malta, Norway, Romania and Germany were also in the show but failed to receive enough votes to finish in the top ten.

Iceland debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1986 and, aside from 2 years of relegation in 1998 and 2002, has participated every year since. The contest is incredibly popular in Iceland, regularly being one of the most watched programmes of the year. Iceland has yet to win the contest but has finished in 2nd on two occasions. In 1999, Selma missed out on victory in Jerusalem by 17 points, and in 2009 Yohanna became the most successful Icelandic entrant ever finishing 2nd in the final with the song “Is it True?”. She scored 218 points, yet still finished 169 points behind the runaway winner Norway.
