The first semi-final of Eesti Laul 2020 takes place this evening live from Tartu, Estonia.
The Estonian selection for Eurovision 2020 commences this evening with the first of two semi-finals. Twelve artists will be taking to the stage tonight in Tartu vying for six places in the Grand Final in Tartu. The show will be live from 18:30 CET.
The six qualifiers will be selected in two stages. In the first stage the public and jury will vote on all of the performances. The four acts that receive the highest combined score from the jury and public will qualify for the final. Voting will reopen for the public to vote on the remaining eight acts, the two acts with the highest number of public votes will also qualify for the final.

Tonight’s show will also feature special guest performances. Estonia’s 2000 entrant Ines will be an interval act in the 1st semi-final along with rap-group 5MINUS. Presenting the show are Tõnis Niinemets and Karl-Erik Taukar.
