Today: Five Nations Reveal Their Entries For The Eurovision Song Contest 2019

Today five nations are in action revealing the artists and songs that will represent them at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv, Israel.

The schedule for the reveals today is as follows:

  • Austria – Release of “Limits” – 07:40 CET
  • Azerbaijan – Artist & Song Reveal – TBA
  • Ireland – Artist & Song Reveal – TBA
  • North Macedonia – Release of “Proud” – 19:30 CET
  • Poland – Song Reveal – 17:00 CET
Austria – “Limits” Song Reveal – 07:40 CET

“Limits” will kick off the song reveals tomorrow, with the Austrian entry getting revealed live on Ö3-Wecker.

Austria is being represented by PAENDA, with the up and coming singer performing “Limits” in Tel Aviv. The song will be revealed first thing in the morning on Ö3-Wecker, before a press conference is held at 10:00 CET in Vienna.

“Limits” is reportedly an “atmospherically charged electronic pop ballad”.

Azerbaijan – Singer & Song Reveal – TBA

Azerbaijan is one of two countries today that will be revealing both their singer and song today for the contest.

Following an internal selection process iTV will reveal Azerbaijan’s singer and song for the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. Four songs are known to have been shortlisted by the Azerbaijani broadcaster. The artists are:

  • Samira Efendi
  • Chingiz Mustafayev
  • Tofig Hajiyev
  • Leman

The four singers have also according to INFE Azerbaijan recordeded demo version of potential songs for Tel Aviv. These demos were then  presented to a jury at iTV who had the final decision on who will represent Azerbaijan at Eurovision 2019.

Ireland – Singer & Song Reveal – TBA

Ireland is also revealing the singer and song that will represent them at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 today.

RTE will reveal the singer and song that has been internally selected to represent Ireland in Tel Aviv. At the time of publishing the broadcaster has not announced the time the reveal will take place. Last year, Ryan O’Shaughnessy’s entry was revealed during the Ray D’Arcy Show on RTÉ Radio One, which takes place between 16:00 and 17:30 CET.

North Macedonia – Reveal of “Proud” – 19:30 CET

Tamara Todevska’s second entry for the Eurovision Song Contest, “Proud” is set to be revealed this evening on MRT.

In keeping with the empowering message of “Proud”, will be taking place on International Women’s Day. “Proud” has by Darko Dimitrov, Robert Bibliov and Lazar Cvetkoski. Each of the songwriters has previous experience at the Eurovision Song Contest.

Tamara Todevska has previous experience within the contest on several occasions. Previously she was a backing singer in 2004 for the late artist Tose Proeski. 10 years later she then served once more as a backing singer for her sister Tijana with her entry “To The Sky”. Tamara was also the representative of her country in 2008 in Belgrade with “Let Me Love You” alongside Vrčak and Adrian Gaxha.

Poland – Song Reveal – 17:00 CET

The song that Tulia will perform at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 will be reveal at 17:00 CET.

Poland will be represented by internally selected group Tulia in Tel Aviv, Israel. TVP had previously reported that their song will most likely be “Pali Się”, however discussions are still ongoing between themselves, Tulia and Universal Music. Furthermore, discussions are underway regarding whether the song will be performed entirely in English or if the song will be in both English and Polish.
