The United Kingdom has won the OGAE Song Contest 2018 with “Scared of the Dark” by Steps. This is the United Kingdom’s fifth victory in the contest. Greece finished in second place while Ireland came third for the second year in a row.
The OGAE Song Contest is one of the contests held between the national branches of OGAE, the official fan club of the Eurovision Song Contest. Clubs can enter with an original song that was released within the last 12 months and sung in one of the country’s official languages. This year’s contest was organised by OGAE Australia, after Dami Im’s victory last year with “Fighting For Love”. This was Australia’s first win in any OGAE Contest.
