The dress that Julia Samoylova will wear at the Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon, Portugal has been revealed to the public.
Designer Anastasia Zadorina has revealed the dress that Julia Samoylova will be wearing on stage at this years Eurovision Song Contest in the Portuguese capital. Speaking with Cosmopolitan Anastasia Zaadorina explained that;
The dress is made of silk, the collar-stand, cuffs and collar will be embroidered with pearls, draperies will add softness to the image.
The design of the dress has received the input of Julia, with the original dress planned to be in three different colours. In the end it was decided that the dress would be a light blue. Julia has already revealed that the dress will play an important part in the performance on stage in Lisbon.
Julia Samoylova was born in Ukhta, a small industrial town in the Russian North, on October 7, 1989. A singer, composer and songwriter, she has won multiple music competitions both in Russia and abroad. She was the runner-up of the Russian version of The X Factor and took part in the opening ceremony of the 2014 Paralympics.
She was selected to represent Russia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with the song “Flame is Burning”, but the country withdrew. This year, she will be performing “I Won’t Break” in Lisbon.

Russia in the Eurovision Song Contest Russia debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994 and has gone on to be one of the most successful countries in the contest. Since the mid-00s Russia has had a string of strong results including their first and only victory to date in 2008. Dima Bilan won the contest in Belgrade, Serbia with the song “Believe” taking the contest to Moscow the following year. In the 2015 and 2016, Russia finished in 2nd and 3rd place respectively in the final.
