Tonight: Five Countries Select Their Eurovision Entry

Tonight five countries will select their Eurovision entry, while Sweden and Lithuania’s search continues.

The schedule for tonight is as follows:

  • Ukraine – Vidbir Final – 18:00 CET
  • Moldova – O Melodie Pentru Europa Final – 18:30 CET
  • Sweden – Melodifestivalen Semi-Final Four – 20:00 CET
  • Lithuania – Eurovizijos atranka show 7 – 20:00 CET
  • Latvia – Supernova Final – 20:25 CET
  • Hungary – A Dal Final – 20:30 CET
  • Slovenia – EMA Final – 20:00 CET
Moldova – O Melodie Pentru Europa Final – 18:30 CET

The final of O Melodie Pentru Europa will take place at 18:30 CET tonight in Moldova. Sixteen acts will participate with the hopes that they will represent their country at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.

The competing acts are:

  2. Lavina Rusu – Altundeva
  3. Bella Luna – Moments
  4. Anna Timofei – Endlessly
  5. Ilia Soroceanu & Dasha DaGro – Minds & Veins
  6. Che MD – Inima-n stângă
  7. Cobîlean Constantin – Numai tu
  8. DoReDos – My lucky day
  9. SandyC & Aaron Sibley – Once upon a time
  10. Anna Odobescu – Agnony
  11. Nicoleta Sava – Esencia del Sur
  12. Doinița Gherman – Dance in flames
  13. Felicica Dunaf – Alien
  14. Viorela – The gates of love
  15. Vera Țurcanu – Black Heart
  16. Ruslan Tsar – Come to life

The winner of the national final will be decided by 50% jury voting and 50% public voting. Last year, SunStroke Project finished third in the final with “Hey Mama”, giving Moldova their best result ever in the contest.

Ukraine – Vidbir Final – 18:00 CET

Six artists will take to the stage in Kyiv tonight at 18:00 CET for the final of Vidbir 2018. Only one of them can represent Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest this year.

The competing acts are:

  1. The Erisde – Heroes
  2. Laud – Waiting
  3. Vilna – Forest Song
  4. Mélovin – Under the Ladder
  5. Tayanna – Leyla
  6. Kadnay – Beat of the Universe

The winner of the national final will be decided by 50% jury voting and 50% public voting.

Sweden – Melodifestivalen Semi-Final Four – 20:00 CET

Sweden’s selection continues tonight as the fourth semi-final of Melodifestivalen takes place in Örnsköldsvik at 20:00 CET. Two acts will progress to the final, while a further two artists will qualify to the next chance round, “Andra Chansen”.

The competing acts are:

  2.  Felix Sandman – “Every Single Day”
  3.  Mariette – “For You”
  4.  Rolandz – “Fuldans”
  5.  Emmi Christensson – “Icarus”

The seventh show in Lithuania’s selection process for Lisbon gets underway tonight. Seven acts will take to the stage vying for a place in the next stage of the competition.

The qualifiers will be determined by 50% jury voting, with the remaining 50% of the vote will be determined by public vote, after which half of the competing acts will qualify for the next stage.

Slovenia – EMA 2018 – Final – 20:00 CET

Live from RTVSLO Studio 1 in Ljubljana, Slovenia rounds off its search, as eight artists take to the stage for eight places in the final.

The eight finalists will perform in the following order:

  1. Lea Sirk – Hvala, ne!
  2. Indigo – Vesna
  3. INA SHAI – Glow
  4. BQL – Promise
  5. Marina Martensson – Blizu
  6. Lara Kadis – Zdaj sem tu
  7. Proper – Ukraden cvet
  8. Nuška Drašček – Ne zapusti me zdaj

The final of EMA 2018 will take place on February 24 in RTVSLO Studio 1 in Ljubljana. Joining Vid Valič to host the show will be Raiven, who participated in EMA 2016 and 2017. She will perform her two EMA entries, “Črno bel” and “Zažarim”, as well as her new single. Also performing during the show will be Omar Naber who represented Slovenia in 2005 and 2017 and Amaya, the Slovenian representative in 2011.

The winner will be chosen by six regional juries (50%) and public voting (50%).

Latvia – Supernova Final – 20:25 CET

Over in Riga, we have the final of Supernova 2018, which will be used to decide Latvia’s next Eurovision contestant. The show will be live from 20:25 CET.

The competing acts are:

  1. Sudden Lights — “Just Fine”
  2. Ritvars — “Who’s Counting”
  3. MADARA — “Esamība”
  4. Liene Greifane — “Walk the Talk”
  5. Lauris Valters — “Lovers Bliss”
  6. Edgars Kreilis — “Younger Days”
  7. Laura Rizzotto — “Funny Girl”
  8. Markus Riva — “This Time”

A jury, consisting of Ilze Jansone, DJ Rudd, Toms Grēviņš and Jolanta Gulbe will account for 50% of the vote. The remaining 50% will be decided by Spotify streams, phone and text voting.

Hungary – A Dal Final – 20:30 CET

The final of A Dal will take place at 20:30 CET tonight, with eight acts battling for victory, and the chance to represent their country at the Eurovision Song Contest.

The competing acts are:

  • Dánielfy Gergely – “Azt mondtad”

  • Leander Kills – “Not szól harang”
  • Süle Zsolt – “Zöld a május”
  • Tamás Horvath – “Meggyfa”

Please note that the above is not the official running order. The jury members will decide on the best four acts tonight to go to the second round of voting. From there, the public will be able to vote on which act they want to see go to the Eurovision Song Contest.
