DoReDos will represent Moldova at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon, Portugal.
Tonight, 16 artists took to the stage for the final of O Melodi Pentru Europa. In the end, it was DoReDos who came out on top with their song “My Lucky Day”.

The winner of the national final was decided by 50% jury voting and 50% public voting. The jury was composed of Moldovan music industry, Anatol Chiriac, Pavel Gămurari, Nicu Țărnă, Victoria Cușnir, Sandu Gorgos, Ivan Aculov, Liviu Știrbu, Lilia Șolomei and Andrei Tostogan. The show was presented by Sergiu Beznitchi and Evelina Vîrlan.
The theme of the show was “Acasă înseamnă Moldova,” “Home means Moldova,” and each performing act introduced themselves with videos of Moldovan culture and a heartfelt message about their home country. Interval acts included a traditional Moldovan dance, as well as a performance from Sunstroke Project.
Last year, SunStroke Project finished third in the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest with “Hey Mamma”, giving Moldova their best result ever in the contest.
Moldova debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 when the contest was last held in Kyiv, Ukraine. In 2005 Moldova debuted in the contest alongside Bulgaria, while that year Hungary also returned to the contest having been absent since 1998. Moldova was in its worse run of results in their history in the contest, having failed to make the final since 2013. At the 2016 contest in Stockholm, the country finished 17th in their semi-final scoring a total of 33 points.
