RTVSLO, the Slovenian national broadcaster, has revealed the final four songs that will compete in EMA 2018. The songs were revealed on Radio Val 202.
The four songs revealed today were:
- MILA – Svoboda (Free)
- Orter – Kraljica (Queen)
- BQL – Ptica (Bird)
- Nika Zorjan – Uspavanka (Lullaby)
- Anabel – “Pozitiva” (Positive)
- Gregor Ravnik – “Zdaj je čas” (Now is the time)
- Ina Shai – “V nebo” (To the sky)
- Indigo – “Vesna” (Spring)
- KiNG FOO – “Žive sanje” (Living dreams)
- Lara Kadis – “Zdaj sem tu” (Now I’m here)
- Lea Sirk – “Ne, hvala!” (No, thanks!)
- ManuElla – “Glas” (The voice)
- Marina Martensson – “Blizu” (Close)
- Nuška Drašček – “Ne zapusti me zdaj” (Don’t leave me now)
- Proper – “Ukraden cvet” (Stolen flower)
- Tanja Ribič – “Ljudje” (People)
EMA 2018 will consist of two shows, a semi-final, and a grand final. The semi-final will take place on 17th February, with the grand final taking place a week later on the 24th February. Both shows will be hosted Vid Valič and will be held in RTVSLO Studio 1 in Ljubljana.
From the 16 competing songs, eight will be chosen for the final. Four will be chosen by the public and four will be chosen by the jury. All songs must be performed in Slovene in the semi-final but there is no language restriction in the final.

Slovenia in the Eurovision Song Contest
Slovenia was one of three countries to join the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993. The country qualified through a specially organised selection round called “Kvalifikacija za Millstreet” which was hosted in Slovenia, seven countries competed for three spots in Eurovision 1993. The country has participated in 22 editions of the Eurovision Song Contest. Their best result came in 1995 when Darja Švajger finished 7th scoring a total of 84 points, she is closely followed by Nuša Derenda who finished 7th in the 2001 contest with 70 points.
