Ahead of the third day of rehearsals in which Serbia’s Tijana Bogicevic will take to the stage for the first time, national broadcasters RTS have released a paced, Serbian language version of the country’s 2017 Eurovision Song Contest entry, “‘In Too Deep’.
Tijana Bogićević will be joined on stage in Kyiv by an experienced trio of backing singers all of who have previously performed on the Eurovision Song Contest stage, as well as one dancer. The backing singers who will be travelling to Ukraine are:
- Jelena Đurić – She has been a backing singer for Serbia at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2008, 2013 and 2016. Has also competed in the X Factor and won first prize at the “Ohrid Festival” in F.Y.R Macedonia in 2015, where she performed a duet with Vlatko Ilievski.
- Sanja Bogosavljević – Performed alongside Marija Šerifović at the Eurovision Song Contest 2007, returned as a backing singer for Serbia in 2015 and 2011.
- Jelena Pajić – Was a backing singer for Montenegro at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, she has also performed backing vocals on tour for Željko Joksimović and Marija Šerifović.
Boris Vidaković will be joining the Serbian team in Kyiv as a dancer. The 25-year-old dancer studies contemporary dance at the Institute for Artistic dance in Belgrade. He is a member of the dance group Dance Factory, who he won first place with at the European Championships in Poland in 2016.
Tijana Bogićević was internally selected back in February to represent Serbia in Kyiv, Ukraine. Tijana isn’t new to Eurovision, as she performed as a backing vocalist for Nina Radojičić at the 2011 contest in Dusseldorf, Germany with the song “Caroban”. She also attempted to represent Serbia in 2009 where she participated in Beovizija 2009, the Serbian selection at the time, but didn’t advance past the semi-final.
Behind this year’s Serbian entry are successful producers, composers and founders of the Symphonix International group, and were part of the winning team in 2014 with Conchita’s “Rise Like A Phoenix” for Austria. More recently they were part of the team of authors for Bulgaria’s 2016 entry “If Love Was A Crime” by Poli Genova.
