O.Torvald have announced that they will take part in the National Final to represent Ukraine at Sziget Festival 2017 in Budapest, Hungary.
As well as representing their country Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 on home soil, rock band O.Torvald are taking part in the National Selection to represent the country at the Sziget Festival 2017 in Hungary. The final in which they will take part in will be held on April 30th in Kyiv club SENTRUM, where they will compete for the right to represent their country.
Sziget Festival is one of the largest music and performing arts festivals in Europe. Held in August in Budapest every year since 1993, more than 1,000 performances take place. Already on the line-up this year are internationally known artists such as Wiz Khalifa, Kasabian, Pink, Tom Odell, Rita Ora, Clean Bandit and many more.
O.Torvald will represent host country Ukraine at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv in May with their song “Time”. They were chosen after winning Vidbir 2017, the country’s National Final show. Recently the band has been to the London Eurovision Party and Eurovision In Concert in Amsterdam to promote their song.
Ukraine will perform 22nd in the Grand Final on Saturday 13th May. Slot 22 in the final has a mixed record over the past ten years, having been the slot that Lena won the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 from for Germany. But has also seen three countries finish in the bottom 20 from. Traditionally slots in the second half of the show are deemed to be stronger position to win the contest from.
