Sunstroke Project have planned and started their promotional tour for their Eurovision 2017 song “Hey Mamma”.
Moldova’s Eurovision 2017 entrants Sunstroke Project have begun their promotional tour. The band have already starred in the intervals of various countries’ national selection shows such as neighbouring country Romania’s “Selectia Nationala” last Sunday and Greece’s selection show a few days ago. Today they have revealed more dates for their tour. On 8th, 9th and 10th March they’ll be in Tallinn, Estonia, and on the 11th March they will perform in Lithuania. It is likely that they will be performing in the interval of Lithuania’s national final selection show.
It’s yet unknown whether they will be taking part in any pre-party events such as Eurovision In Concert or the London Eurovision Party, but last year’s Moldovan entrant Lidia Isac took part in three pre-party events across Europe – the Eurovision in Concert in Amsterdam, the Israel Calling event in Tel Aviv, and the Russian Eurovision Party in Moscow.
Moldova selected Sunstroke Project to represent them at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv, Ukraine. The country held a national final selection in which eight acts performed. The winner was decided by 50% jury vote and 50 % televote. SunStroke Project first represented Moldova at the Eurovision Song Contest 2010, where they performed “Run Away” alongside Olia Tira. Their performance is often remembered by their “Epic Sax Guy”, who has become a popular icon amongst Eurovision fan communities. They qualified for the 2010 final in Oslo, Norway and achieved 22nd place with 27 points in the Grand Final.

In 2005 Moldova debuted in the contest alongside Bulgaria, while that year Hungary also returned to the contest having been absent since 1998. Moldova is currently in its worse run of results in their history in the contest, having failed to make the final since 2013.
