Tonight: Hungary & Lithuania Continue Their Searches

Hungary and Lithuania continue their searches tonight for their entries for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017.

Two countries are in action tonight as the Eurovision season moves forwards. In Hungary the second heat of A Dal will take place with the first 10 of 30 artists taking to the stage in Budapest. While in Lithuania the show moves into its third week as 13 artists are all hoping they make it through to the next round.

Hungary – A Dal – 19:30 CET:

Hungary continues their search for Kyiv, Ukraine tonight with 10 artists taking to Budapest. The first three shows in the series will be A Dal are heats with 10 songs in each show competing for six places in the two semi finals.

Competing tonight are:

  • Zävodi + Olivér Berkes – #háttérzaj

  • Enikő Muri – Jericho
  • Benjámin Pál – Father’s Eyes
  • Gigi Radics – See It Through
  • Soulwave – Kalandor
  • Totova – Hosszú idők

The format of this year’s voting will effectively remain the same, but with one vital change – this year the first five qualifiers will be decided by a 50-50 jury and public vote. The sixth qualifier will still be decided by a 100% public vote.

Lithuania – Eurovizijos Atranka – 20:00 CET:

A total of fifty-one singers are competing in “Eurovizijos Atranka” with between 12 and 13 singers competing in each of the four heats of the show. A total 13 singers are competing in the selection tonight, the qualifiers are being selected by 50% televote and 50% jury.

The running order for the show is as follows (Jury votes):

  7. Vilija Matačiūnaitė – I see the lights ~ 4 points
  8. Milda Martinkėnaitė & Saulenė Chlevickaitė – Paperheart ~ 5 points
  9. Lolita Zero – Get Frighten ~ 8 points
  10. HIT – I Wanna Love You Tonight ~ 3 points
  11. Vidas Bareikis & Ieva Zasimauskaitė – I Love My Phone  ~ 7 points
  12. Erika Astrauskaitė – No more ~ 3 points
  13. Greta Zazza – Like I Love You ~ 12 points

From the fifth show onwards an international jury will be introduced to show and will be voting alongside the domestic jury. The final will be held on March 11 with at least six singers competing for the right to represent Lithuania at the 62nd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv Ukraine. The qualifiers tonight will be selected by 50% jury voting and then 50% public televoting.
