10 artists have made it through the first round of vote in the Eurocasting round of Spain’s selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017.
10 singers have made it through to the next round of the Eurocasting stage of Spain’s Eurovision Song Contest 2017 selection process. A total of 392 songs were submitted to the selection, from which 30 songs were selected to go through to the Eurocasting round. These 30 songs were voted on by the Spanish public, with the 10 songs receiving the highest number of votes progressing.
A jury will now listen to all of the 10 songs and select just 3 to go through to the online semi final on January 12. The winner of the online selection will be decided by the public. The winner of Eurocasting will be competing in the final of the Spanish selection alongside as yet unknown acts. These unknown acts have been invited by RTVE to compete in the selection.
Through to the next round are:
- Brequette Cassie – No Enemy
- Fruela – Live It Up
- Javian – No somos heroes
- LeKlein – Ouch!
- Nicky Triphook – Daddy’s Little Girl
- Nieves Hidalgo – Esclava
- Nito – Luna
- Pedro Elipe – Del dolor
- Rebeca Moss – Volvere por ti
- Romy Low – In Love
Among the candidates through to the next round is Brequette with “No enemy”. Brequette will be known to Eurovision fans for having been the runner up in the 2014 Spanish selection, finishing behind Ruth Lorenzo. In 2016 she took to the Eurovision stage as a backing singer for Barei. Barei had composed three songs for Brequette in the Spanish selection, but only “No enemy” made it through to the online selection.
The final of Objetvio Eurovision will be taking place on February 1, with the winner going on to represent Spain at the 62nd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv, Ukraine. The winner will be decided by a jury and public televote.
