Romania: Paula & Ovi To Hold Eurovision Songwriting Camp

Two time Eurovision participants for Romania, Paula & Ovi are to hold a songwriting camp for Eurovision 2017.

Paula Seling and Ovi who represented Romania at the 2010 and 2014 Eurovision Song Contests are to hold a songwriting camp for next years contest. “Dracula Song Camp” will see Paula and Ovi working with songwriters from across Europe alongside songwriters from Romania to produce songs for Eurovision 2017.

Paula Seling and Ovi are the most successful singers to have represented Romania at the Eurovision Song Contest, having finished 3rd in 2010 with 162 points. While Paula has never been involved in writing songs for Eurovision selections outside of Romania, Ovi has participated in Norway and Belgium’s selection processes as a writer.

Romania’s participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 is in question as the national broadcaster, TVR is currently not a member of the EBU. TVR was removed from the EBU in the run up to the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 due to outstanding debts dating back to 2007. Romania first participated in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994 and is one of three countries to have always qualified from the semi finals to the final.
