Today: Svensktoppen nästa 2016 Final

Today the winner of Svensktoppen nästa 2016 will be decided, and we will know the name of the first Meldoifestivalen 2017 participant.

The eight acts taking part in the final of Svensktoppen nästa on today were selected by a jury. A total of 25 acts were competing for a place in the final, with regional finals being held across Sweden for the contest over the past three months.

One of the eight finalists selected will compete in Melodifestivalen 2017, the act making it to Melodifestivalen will be selected by a jury. The act may not be the winner of the competition, as we saw last year when SMILO were selected ahead of the winner Michael Fannon.

Competing in the final this afternoon are:

1. Jimmy Ottosson – Rising Rivers
2. Small Town Girls – Do your thing
3. Mackan n’ Matthew – Allt som vi va
4. SaVe – 2 wrongs don’t make 1 right
5. Vindstyrka – Sluta gömma dig
6. LiRic – Bullshit Affair
7. Les Gordons – Need to feel
8. Noomi – Intoxicated

The jury that selected the eight finalists and will select the act going to Melodifestivalen 2017 are:

• Kerstin Behrendtz (Sveriges Radio)
• Rita Jernquist (Sveriges Radio)
• Carolina Norén (Sveriges Radio)
• Christer Björkman (SVT)
• Maths Broborg (Sveriges Radio and Chairman of the Jury)

Svensktoppen nästa has been used to select one participant for Melodifestivalen since 2013. Participants from Svensktoppen nästa have never managed to make it out of the semi finals.
