Kherson’s bid to host the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest has the backing of the Deputy Minister of Information.
The Minister who was in Kherson for the release of a Belgian Movie shot in the city and surrounding region, has announced their support for the bid. Mrs Popova stated that the bid had the possibility to bring Kherson international recognition and boost the region economically. Kherson has not announced formally which venue they would use to host the contest.
Kherson is one of eight cities who have voiced their intention or interest in hosting next years contest.
