BTRC the national broadcaster of Belarus has stated that interest in their Junior Eurovision selection is high.

The broadcaster is expecting around 50 submissions to be made to compete in their selection process for Junior Eurovision 2016. The country closes their submissions process for the contest on June 17 after which a jury will select the seven to ten contenders in the contest. In 2015 a total of 46 singers submitted songs into the selection, up from 41 on the year before.

Belarus has won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest on two occasions in 2005 and 2007.

      1. American Idol ended recently due to a big loss of viewership, so there should be no need for Junior Eurovision to end either. But here’s the good thing: San Marino’s planning to select a foreign singer in order to keep JESC from ending. 🙂

      2. I don’t actually think the sinking ship is dying this year, but if they keep the new rules, it will probably die sometime in the next 5 years
