The Head of Delegation for the Czech Republic Jan Forst Bors has encouraged Slovakia to return to the Eurovision Song Contest.
In an interview with the Slovak website HNOnline.sk the Head of Delegation for the Czech Republic was asked his thoughts on Slovakia participating in the contest. Mrs Forst Bors told the website that Slovakia should:
Take a look at it and see that it’s really big and prestigious thing, which is worth participating in. Come see for yourself. Of course it makes no sense to advise someone, and therefore I say this solely from the position of a fan of the competition. Slovakia has an amazing musical tradition. You have so many perfect musicians and if the conditions will allow, go into it.
Jan Forst Bors is in his first year as the Head of Delegation for the Czech Republic at the Eurovision Song Contest. He also confirmed that Ceska Televize will most likely continue to use internal selections for the contest. When deciding to participate in the contest he added that the cost of the event was not a major factor instead it was the:
Representation of the Czech Republic abroad, representation of Television, Czech artists and music around the world.
The Slovak national broadcaster RTVS last month spoke to Eurofire.me about Eurovision participation. In the interview they stated that Eurovision is an attractive project but that currently they lack the financial resources to take part.
