Azerbaijan: The Conference

Azerbaijan Win The First Turkvizyon Song Contest
Dilara undertakes her first conference in Copenhagen.

Azerbaijan’s first press conference has just finished and Dilara was very honest during the conference and brought total professionalism.

To start, Dilara was asked about her rehearsal, she stated:

I am excited, but I’m trying to enjoy it. It was everything I expected.

When asked about the staging and performance, Dilara then added:

It was the first rehearsal, I was very excited. We don’t have a usual Eurovision song, so we’re trying to go towards an unusual staging. I was scared for the acrobat, she was very high. I like it and hope we can succeed.

She was then asked about the acrobat specifically. She replied:

It’s not a usual song, so we wanted to create a very unusual, special way to so the diversity of the song.

The presenter then asked her on the pressure from Azerbaijan’s record, she said:

No, I try to do my performance really well and yeah, Azerbaijan have a really good record and performance. I think and hope I do, too.

Then press asked her on her expectations for the contest, in which she replied:

Like every artist, I would like to win but I don’t think about the result now, I just want to focus on my performance.

Dilara was then asked if it was her decision to have the acrobat, she stated:

It was not my decision, it was the delegations. This year, we are working with talented Choreographers and they are very creative.

Dilara then got asked why she chose a Swedish composition, rather than something more national, she said:

The song is very national; it was written with Azerbaijan national instrumentals in mind. However, we liked the Swedish composition rather than all the other compositions.

Finally, Dilara was asked about her love for Eurovision:

I really like Eurovision so finally being chosen is a great, great feeling.

Dilara will perform for Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan will perform 8th in the 1st semi final scheduled for the 6th of May.
