NRK have confirmed that 25 submissions for MGP.jr have gone missing. This year saw a record of over 600 songs entered into the contest however a handful of submissions have been lost on the way to NRK.
NRK have said that the memory sticks that had the songs of the entrants on were lost on the way to NRK or on delivery to NRK. The envelopes on delivery to NRK according to the Press Officer Hilde Ebeltoft Skaugard:
One of sorting our machines has not worked that added memory chips to the envelopes. They are used to cope with flat packs, and when there has been a dent in these envelopes, the envelopes have been thrown away, and memory chips have fallen out.
NRK are now working to work out where the 25 submissions came from to enable those affected to submit their songs again.
