Latvia: Change To Dziesma 2014 Dates

LTV the National Broadcaster of Latvia has announced that the dates on which Dziemsa 2014 will take place have changed. The semi finals have been pushed back 2 weeks, so will now take place on February 1st and 2nd, with the final now on the 22nd of February.

The dates of the shows being changed was explained by the Program Development Manager Sergejs Nesterovs, who said that due to events like the Winter Olympics, adoption of the Euro by Latvia and Riga Festival. He went on to say:

The broadcasting of such an important and large event as national selection for Eurovision Song Contest requires particular preparations. It is essential to have at least a little bit of time after a production of an event broadcast to prepare for the next one to provide the best possible technical quality and broadcast.

The rules of the contest have not changed and the date for submissions being in for is still November 30th.
