VRT who are normally known in Belgium for their better results when it comes to Eurovision may be looking at an Open Selection according to André Vermeulen the VRT Commentator. Mr Vermeulen supported the idea of returning to an Open Selection as it would be a stimulant for the Belgian music industry and provide more entertainment tv on VRT.
VRT has yet to announce it’s plans for 2014 which is not surprising due to the contest being a year and a half away. The 2013 selection sees RTBF selecting the Eurovision entry, in 2011 RTBF held a National Final in which Witloof Bay won with “With Love Baby” coming 11th in the 2nd Semi Final with 53 points just 1 point behind 10th place.
