From Helsinki would move forward one year to Belgrade, Serbia and possibly to one of the worst songs I have ever heard. Now if I told you the name of the group was Kreisiraadio you are most likely still clueless. If I told you the name of the song was “Leto Svet” you are probably still confused. If you have no idea then you are incredibly lucky to not have come across this shocker of a song. Well let’s have a look:
To start of the lyrics are mainly in Serbian and make no sense even to Serbians due to the fact it seems they just picked words from a dictionary. To be frank they are scary already due to the fact they are a bunch of middle aged men who sound very odd. The backing dancers make no sense either, nor do the props that are being used on stage. The reaction of the audience says it all when there are a few cheers and the rest are just confused.
What scares me is how in EuroLaul the song won with a total of 52,518 votes over 22,000 votes more than second place. It does not surprise me either to find that Kreisiraadio are a comedy group, it would have been worrying if they were a proper band. Thankfully Estonia came 18th in their semi final with just 8 points 7 of which came from Finland and 1 from Moldova.
So what have we learned today:
- Middle Aged men are scary in suits.
- Random props make no sense.
- Make sure you use a language properly.
- Don’t send comedians.
