Norway and Bulgaria have both confirmed that they will not be taking part in JESC 2012. Norway have not taken part in Junior Eurovision since 2005, NRK withdrew the country from the contest due to a rule change that enabled professional singers to take place. BNT of Bulgaria have also confirmed their withdrawal from the contest, Bulgaria had returned to the contest in 2011 coming 8th with 60 points, their 2nd best result ever.
