With all the recent announcements with participation here is a quick rundown of who has confirmed participation this week and when their national finals are scheduled to be.
Bulgaria: BNT has setup a panel of various mass media and music professionals who will chose up to 60 acts. 30 will advance to the semi finals on the 12th and 14th of December. The national final will then take place on January 28th.
Cyprus: Ivi Adamou has been confirmed as the act taking Cyprus to Baku but the song has yet to be chosen. The national final will consist of 3 songs, all of which are to be revealed. The final will take place on December 31st with the public and jury voting for their favourite song to go to Baku next May.
Denmark: This year’s Meldoi Grand Prix will return to Aalborg and will take place on January the 21st. Submissions are being taken up to the 26th of September, 10 songs will take part in the final 6 or 7 will be chosen to go to the final whilst another 3-4 will be put in as wildcard acts. These wildcard acts have included before DQ who went on to represent Denmark in Helsinki.
Finland: There are to be 5 semi finals which are set for the January 27th and February 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th, the Grand Final will then take place on the 25th of February. YLE is using a new selection process this year spurred on by Paradise Oskar and Finland’s aim to increase interest in the contest and better results.
Malta: The selection process will kick off on October 20th when entries will be excepted, the songs will be excepted at PBS between 9am-Midday and 2pm-4pm local time. 24 songs will advance to a semi final on January 27th and 16 will go through to the final on January 28th.
Switzerland: The final will take place on the 10th of December for more follow this link: Switzerland 2012
