5.2 Million Euro has been pledged to bring the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 to Den Bosch in South Brabant.
A total of 5.2 million Euro has been pledged to bring next years Eurovision Song Contest to Den Bosch. The bid which was presented today to NOS, NPO and AVROTROS has financial backing from a number of key stakeholders. 3 Million Euro has been pledged by the local municipality, 1 Million Euro by the Province and 1.2 Million Euro by the owners of the Brabanthallen, the proposed venue for the contest.
During their 10 minute presentation this morning the Bid Team spoke of the possibilities that hosting Eurovision 2020 would give to Den Bosch and the wider province. Comparisons were made to Den Bosch hosting a stage of the Tour de France in 1996.
Jeroen Dona the Director of Brabanthallen added;
We are particularly enthusiastic in Brabant. Den Bosch and the Brabanthallen are in the heart of the Netherlands. Hopefully we can be the connecting factor to celebrate the Songfestival together.
With Mayor Jack Mikkers writing in an open letter that;
Everyone is equal and everyone must be given equal opportunities. We will use the Eurovision Song Contest to make even more social and social connections. Connections between and through people.
