The Eurovision version of “Historyja majho žyccia” (Story of My Life) the song that will be performed by Navi at Eurovision 2017 in Kyiv, Ukraine has been released.
The revamped version of the song “Historyja majho žyccia” has been released ahead of the deadline for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. The new version of the song now features the violin and duda in contrast to the song performed at the national final, furthermore the song’s backing track was filmed with live instruments. The changes have been overseen by Oleg Khomenko who competed in Belarus’ Eurovision selection 10 years ago with a song in Belarusian
The group is working with the Belarusian delegation on the concept for their performance for Eurovision 2017. These plans will be presented the contests creative group next week. The Belarusian Head of Delegation travelling to Kyiv for the Heads of Delegation meeting on Monday where all of the required materials for the contest must be submitted.
The release of the song comes a week after Navi carried out their photo shoot for this years contest. During the photo shoot the duo had brief access to holding the Francysk Skaryna Bible, the Bible which dates back to 1217 is the first known document to mention Belarus. The idea of including the historic document in the photo shoot was to capture the emotions of young Belarusian’s to their heritage.
Navi following their victory in the Belarusian selection process have stated their excitement in competing in Eurovision and wish to present the modern face of Belarus to the rest of Europe. “Historyja majho žyccia” is the first song in Belarusian to compete at the Eurovision Song Contest. The language has previously only been heard at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
Belarus will be performing in the second half of the second semi final. The last time that Belarus managed to qualify for the final of the Eurovision Song Contest, they also performed in the second half of the second semi final.
