Tickets for the final of the Lithuanian selection process for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 have sold out in just minutes.
With the announcement last week that for the first time the final of the Lithuanian selection would be held outside of Vilnius, tickets for this years final in Klaipėda at the Švyturys Arena sold out in just minutes. Tickets went on sale at 11:00 local time and had sold out within 15 minutes of being placed online, tickets for the final cost just 3 Euros.
A handful more tickets will go on sale next Wednesday in Klaipėda and at outlets of Bilietai.lt. The tickets will again cost just 3 Euros, but the tickets will not be available to purchase online. LRT has announced that alongside the finalists competing to represent the country in Kyiv, there will be a number of guest performers at the final on March 11.
The first of two quarterfinals were held last Saturday, the results of the show were as follows:
- Ieva Zasimauskaite – “You Saved Me” ~ 14 points: 7 Jury (8 LT Jury / 5 Int Jury) + 7 Tele
- E.G.O. – “My Story” ~ 10 points: 6 Jury (5 LT Jury / 7 Int Jury) + 4 Tele
- Greta Zazza – “Like I Love You” ~ 18 points: 10 Jury: Jury (10 LT Jury / 8 Int Jury) + 8 Tele
- Gražvydas – “Paint the Sky Blue” ~ 8 points: 5 Jury (4 LT Jury / 4 Int Jury) + 3 Tele
- Gytis Ivanauskas (Lolita Zero) – “Get Frighten” ~ 14 points: 4 Jury (3 LT Jury / 4 Int Jury) + 10 Tele
- Aiste Pilvelyte – “I’m Like a Wolf” ~ 22 points: 10 Jury (12 LT Jury / 6 Int Jury) + 12 Tele
- Edgaras Lubys – “Could It Be?” ~ 13 points: 8 Jury (6 LT Jury / 10 Int Jury) + 5 Tele
- Sasha Song – “Never Felt Like This Before” ~ 18 points: 12 Jury (7 LT Jury / 12 Int Jury) + 6 Tele

Lithuania didn’t return to the contest until 1999 when Aiste finished 20th with the song “Strazdas”. Lithuania’s best result came in 2006 when LT United performed “We Are The Winners”, they finished 6th in the final with a total of 162 points.
