Liet International the song contest for regional and minority languages is set to return in 2024.

Liet has confirmed that Liet International will be returning in 2024 for its 14th edition. The exact date and the host location for the competition has not yet been announced. The announcement confirms the return of the contest being held every two years, as had been the case since 2018.

Liet International is a song contest for regional and minority languages spoken across Europe. The contest was first held in 2002 as an evolution of Liet, a Frisian language song contest held in the Netherlands.

In 2022 the contest was held in Tønder, Denmark and thirteen songs were selected to compete in the contest. The contest featured its first songs in South Jutlandic, Southern Schleswig Danish, South Tyrolean German and Hebrew. Corsica won the contest represented by Doria and her song “Roma”.

Friesland automatically qualifies for the final of the contest with the winner of Liet 2023, set to represent the Province at Liet International and the Regio Songfestival 2023.
