Ireland: Walter McCabe is the First Finalist

Walter McCabe has been selected as the first finalist in Ireland’s Junior Eurovision 2016 selection process.

Walter McCabe has won the first semi final of the Irish selection process for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016. A total of eight singers competed in the semi final which was broadcast tonight on TG4. As ever it was down to the jury to select the singer who will competing in the final for the right to represent Ireland at Junior Eurovision 2016.

The eight participants were as follows:

• Amy Meehan – Tapaigh An Deis
• Bernadette Royo – Bean Sí
• Cathal Gavin – Seo hé Mo Ghlór
• Hannah McNicholas Roche – Titim as a Chéile
• Jael Katebe-Wini – An Ghrá i do Chroí
• Molly McCarthy – Imithe Leis An Ghaoth
• Susie Power – Popsicle
• Walter McCabe – Las Do Sholas – Finalist

On the jury for the first semi final were; Fiachna O Braonain and Paulien Scanlon, as well as Jedward who represented Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 and 2012.
