The Nordic Council’s Nordic Arctic Programme has awarded funding to support the holding of Pan-ArcticVision 2026 in the Faroe Islands.
The organisers of Pan-ArcticVision have been awarded funding of 300,000 DKK (40,136 Euro) to support the organisation of this year’s competition. The contest was one of twenty-three projects across the Arctic that were allocated funds totaling 10.3 million DKK (1.378 million Euro).
This is the second year in a row that Pan-ArcticVision has been awarded funds by the Nordic Council to support the competition. Pan-ArcticVision 2026 will be held this October in the capital of the Faroe Islands, as the contest returns for a fourth edition. Tórshavn will host the contest on October 2.
Contest organisers are currently selecting the acts that will compete in the contest, with singers from Alaska, Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Greenland, Faroe Islands, Sápmi, Northern Norway and Northern Sweden all invited to participate through an open call for songs. Additional acts from other regions are expected, but an open call for songs is not being held.
The singers confirmed to date for Pan-ArcticVision 2026 are:
- Nunavut – Christen Tootoo and Tooma Laisa
Pan-ArcticVision is loosely based on the Eurovision Song Contest and was first held in 2023. The contest aims to bring together the peoples of the Arctic. All of the artists competing in the contest were chosen by cultural organisations across the Arctic.
