In France, the average audience for the Eurovision Song Contest final fell by more than a million viewers compared to the 2025 contest.
An average audience of 3,986,000 viewers watched last night as Monroe competed in the final of the 70th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. The broadcast on France 2 had an audience share of 33.3%. Overall, the figure represented a fall of 1,298,000 viewers compared to the 2025 final and a drop in audience share of 6.7 percentage points.
The number of viewers for the Eurovision 2026 final makes the contest the least watched contest in France since the 2023 final, when La Zarra competed in Liverpool. The drop in audience could be attributed to a less well-established name in the French music industry competing in the contest compared to Louane and Slimane, who competed in 2025 and 2024, respectively.
Monroe represented France at Eurovision 2026 with “Regarde !”, She placed 11th in the final, scoring 158 points. France received 158 points from the jury and 14 points from the public, she received 12 points from the juries in Finland, Georgia and the United Kingdom.

France was one of seven countries to participate in the first Eurovision Song Contest in 1956. Since then, they have participated in every contest except 1974 and 1982.
