Almost half a million Norwegians tuned in for the second semi-final of the Eurovison Song Contest 2026 last night.
NRK, Norway’s national broadcaster, recorded 488,000 viewers for yesterday’s second semi-final of Eurovision 2026, during which the country’s representative, Jonas Lovv, performed and qualified for the Grand Final on May 16. Compared to the first semi-final in 2025, in which Norway competed with Kyle Alessandro, this year’s event attracted 3,000 more viewers.
Mads Tørklep, Head of the Norwegian delegation, commented on the increase of viewership for Kampanje.
“It’s really nice to have an increase in viewership. Especially considering that it was a public holiday and is a long weekend for many. A lot has been at stake for Jonas and Norway. His voice has been troubled and we have been ordered to change the stage number from the EBU. It has been quite a journey for people to follow. Now we are looking forward to the final tomorrow.”

Norway debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1960 and have won the contest three times – in 1985, 1995 and 2009. The country has the dubious record of finishing last the most times, twelve in total, and have received nul points four times. Norway last won the contest in 2009 when Alexander Rybak broke all records with his song “Fairytale”. He scored 387 points in the final, receiving 16 sets of 12 points and scoring points from every country.
