The Norwegian representative Jonas Lovv has been asked to tone down his performance for Eurovision 2026 by the European Broadcasting Union.
Speaking at the Turquoise Carpet, the Norwegian delegation has revealed that the European Broadcasting Union has asked Norway and Jonas Lovv to tone down their performance for the live shows. Jonas Lovv told NRK on the carpet that โWithout further ado: too sexy. Weโre not allowed to say exactly what itโs about, but โฆ too sexyโ. The Norwegian Head of Delegation, Mads Tรธrklep, confirmed, explaining:
โWe have been told to tone down the โsex appealโ because it is not family-friendly enough, so we will do thatโ
The Head of Delegation went on to add that โWe didnโt mean to make this too over the top, itโs just your style to be like that. Because you do it so naturally that you take a little bit of a step and make some kind of jerky movements.โ Jonas Lovv added, โNo, of course we take it very seriously when we get that kind of message. I think they just say it to make sure we donโt take it too far. But weโre not the worst!โ
Jonas Lovv was selected to represent Norway after winning Melodi Grand Prix. The song that Jonas Lovv will perform in Vienna was written by Jonas himself and composed by Sondre Skaftun. Jonas Lovv will close the second semi-final, on May 14. Find out more about Jonas below:
