🇦🇹 Eurovision 2026: Vicky Leandros to Perform in Semi-Final One?

BILD reports that Vicky Leandros is set to open Semi-Final One of the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna, Austria.

The German newspaper BILD reports that Vicky Leandros will return to Vienna nearly sixty years after her first participation in the Eurovision Song Contest. Greek-born singer Vicky Leandros is known within the Eurovision Song Contest having made two appearances for Luxembourg. Her first appearance was in 1967 in Vienna with her entry “L’amour est bleu” which came fourth at the contest with 17 points. Subsequently, Leandros became the 3rd winner of the Eurovision Song Contest for Luxembourg in 1972 with the song “Aprés toi”, scoring 128 points.

The German newspaper reports that she will perform “L’amour est bleu” in a new arrangement. She told BILD:

“I am very happy to be returning to Vienna, where it all began with my first participation in the Eurovision Song Contest with ‘L’amour est bleu’!”

The European Broadcasting Union and ORF have not commented on the report from BILD.

Eurovision 2026

As announced by the EBU in August, the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 will be held in Vienna following JJ’s victory for Austria with “Wasted Love” in Basel. 35 countries are set to take part. Both semi-finals are scheduled for May 12 and 14, while the Grand Final will take place on May 16. The contest will be hosted in the Wiener Stadthalle, the same venue used in 2015, which can accommodate up to 16,000 spectators.

The 70th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Vienna on May 12, 14, and 16, 2026.
