🇦🇱 Albania: Alis Releases Cover of Nemo’s “The Code”

Ahead of his appearance at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, Albania’s Alis has released a cover of the Swiss 2024 winning entry “The Code”.

As part of Eurovision’s “A Little Bit More!” series on YouTube, Albanian representative Alis has released his cover of Nemo’s “The Code”. The Swiss song won the 2024 edition of the contest in Malmö.

Alis will perform his song “Nân” in 13th position in the second semi-final on May 14.

Who is Alis?

Alis Kallaçi, better known as Alis, was born in Shkodër in northern Albania. He studied piano at the Prenk Jakova Art School in Shkodër. In 2024, Alis won the fifth season of X Factor Albania. His coach on the show was Arilena Ara, who was due to represent Albania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. After his win, he released his debut single “Se të dua”, a collaboration with Arilena Ara.

Albania made its debut at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004. Albania succeeded in their first showing with Anjeza Shahini’s “The Image of You”, finishing 7th in the final. Albania has competed in the Eurovision Song Contest every year since its debut. Since the success of their first appearance, they have reached the grand final a further 11 times. They bettered their 2004 score in 2012 with Rona Nishliu’s song “Suus”, which finished in 5th place with 146 points. This was their first time reaching the top 5 and their best placing to date.
