Sara Owen has won Cân i Gymru 2026 and will represent Wales at the Pan Celtic Song Contest 2026.
“Y Gân” (The Song) was the winner of the 2026 edition of Cân i Gymru which took place at the Anglesey Showground. The contest which was hosted by Trystan Ellis-Morris and Elin Fflurn saw eight acts compete to be named the best Welsh language song.
The results of the contest were determined entirely by the public through online voting. The results were as follows:

What is the Pan Celtic Song Contest?
The Pan Celtic Song Contest has been held annually since 1971 and is part of the Pan Celtic Festival. The aim of the contest is to promote modern Celtic languages and cultures from the six Celtic nations of:
- Brittany
- Cornwall
- Ireland
- Isle of Man
- Scotland
- Wales
Wales is the most successful nation at the competition having won the event a total of 16 times. In contrast, the Isle of Man has won the event only once in 2014.
