Søren Torpegaard Lund has confirmed that swearing has been removed from his song to ensure it meets the rules of the Eurovision Song Contest.

Speaking to BT, Søren Torpegaard Lund has confirmed that “fucking” will no longer feature in his entry for the Eurovision Song Contest. The word has been removed from the song to ensure that it meets the rules of the competition, which states that swearing cannot be present in the competing songs. The singer told BT that:

“The Eurovision version is just adapted to the format and the rules. The energy, the message and the cheekiness are still there.”

Søren Torpegaard Lund won Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2026 and will represent Denmark at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 with “Før vi går hjem” (Before we go home). He will perform in the second half of the second semi-final of May 14.

Denmark debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1957 alongside Austria and the United Kingdom. To date, Denmark has won the contest on three occasions, the first being in 1963 when Grethe & Jorgen Ingmann performed “Dansevise”. Denmark won the contest again in 2000, represented by the Olsen Brothers. Their most recent victory came in 2013, when Emmelie de Forest performed “Only Teardrops”.
