Stefano De Martino will take over from Carlo Conti for the 2027 edition of the Festival di Sanremo.
Stefano De Martino was announced as the new Host and Artistic Director for the Festival di Sanremo during the final night of the 2026 edition last night. De Martino is taking over from Carlo Conti who had declared that the 2026 edition would be his last.
He is a host, actor and dancer had been speculated in the Italian press as a likely candidate to take over as Artistic Director for the Festival di Sanremo. Stefano has presented on Rai since 2019, when he hosted the comedy series Mad in Sud.
His role will mean that he will help to shape the future of Festival di Sanremo, working closely to encourage artists to take part in the contest and build one of Italy’s biggest cultural events.

Italy debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1956 and has participated a total of 42 times to date. Italy returned to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2011 having last participated in the contest in 1997. The country has withdrawn from the contest on a number of occasions in the past. Italy has won the contest three times, the first time being in 1964 and the latest being in 2021. Since their return in 2011, Italy has finished in the top 10 on twelve occasions.
