The Australian representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna, Austria, is set to be announced “very soon”.

Speaking to TV Tonight, the Australian broadcaster SBS has announced that its representative for the Eurovision Song Contest will be announced “very soon”. The comments came as SBS revealed its programming plans for the upcoming months to the Australian press. Channel Manager, Natalie Edgar commented:

“I signed an NDA, but I’ve gotta tell you, it’s really good. I think everyone will be happy.”

SBS has once again opted to internally select their representative and song for the Eurovision Song Contest. Most Australian entries have been chosen through an internal selection, except for 2019, 2020 and 2022, which were chosen through the national final Eurovision – Australia Decides. Australia will be aiming to qualify for the final in Vienna, having last qualified in 2023 in Liverpool, United Kingdom.

Australia was represented by Go-Jo at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 with “Milkshake Man”. Australia narrowly missed out on qualification for the Grand Final, placing 11th in their semi-final with 41 points, 10 points behind 10th-placed Armenia.
