The ninth artist in our Who Is series for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2025 is Leonardo Giovannangeli from Italy.
Leonardo Giovannangeli is 11 years old and comes from Rome. He first developped a passion for performing at the age of six, when he saw performances of Michael Jackson on YouTube. Soon after, he started dancing and singing. He currently attends a music school three days a week, where he studies singing and piano.
In 2023, Leonardo competed in Sanremo Junior, a music competition for solo singers aged 6 to 15. In 2024, he competed in the third series of The Voice Kids Italia, where he reached the final. Beyond music, Leonardo is passionate about singing, dancing, acting and wrestling.
Leonardo was internally selected to represent Italy at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2025.
The song that Leonardo will perform in Tbilisi is called “Rockstar”. It was written and composed by Claudia Zanecchia and Giancarlo Prandelli.
Leonardo will perform in slot number 12 in the final of Junior Eurovision 2025.

Italy in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest
Italy debuted in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2014. Their first and only win to date was on their debut when Vincenzo Cantiello came in 1st place with 159 points with his song “Tu primo grande amore”. Their worst result was in 2015, when twins Chiara & Martina came 16th with 34 points with their song “Viva”. Since their debut, Italy has participated in every contest except for 2020.
