Albania kicks off its search for Eurovision 2026 today, while in Norway, song submissions close for Melodi Grand Prix 2026.
🇦🇱 Albania – Festivali i Këngës 64 Song Submissions Open
The search is on for the songs that will compete in Festivali i Këngës 64. The song submission window opens today and will close on September 30. Anyone looking to submit a song must send their songs to festivali64@rtsh.al.
The rules for song submissions are as follows:
- Songs must be new and must not have been published before the contest.
- Songs must not be over 4 minutes long.
- Artists must be at least 16 years old.
- Submissions must include the full song and orchestral backing track with backing vocals (MP3), lyrics (Word), information about the songwriter(s) and the singer(s).
- Any songs created with the use of AI will be automatically disqualified.
- Anyone applying to Festivali i Këngës for the first time needs to attach a photo of the artist(s) to the application.
The Festivali i Këngës 64 selection committee will review all of the submission and select a number of submissions to compete in Festivali i Këngës 64 in December. The exact dates and format for the contest have yet to be revealed.
Festivali i Këngës has been used since Albania’s debut in the Eurovision Song Contest to select its participants in the Eurovision Song Contest. It is expected that it will be used to select the Albanian representative for Eurovision 2026.
🇳🇴 Norway – Melodi Grand Prix 2026 Song Submission Window Closes
Today is the last day for songs to be submitted to compete in the Norwegian selection for Eurovision 2026.
Interested singers and songwriters have until the end of the day to submit their songs to NRK for Melodi Grand Prix 2026. Having opened the song submission window on June 20, today is the final day that songs are being accepted for the Norwegian national selection.
The rules of the selection are as follows:
- The song(s) must be an original composition
- The song(s) cannot be longer than 3 minutes
- The song(s) must not have been performed or released before September 1, 2025
- The song(s) must have at least one Norwegian songwriter
- Artists must have turned 16 by January 1, 2026
- Each producer/songwriter may submit a maximum of three songs
Songs can be submitted on the NRK website here. NRK will announce further details regarding Melodi Grand Prix 2026 later this autumn.
