Today, Ukraine will close its application window for young singers to represent Ukraine at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2025.
Suspilne will close the application window for singers wishing to represent Ukraine at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. As has occurred in previous years, singers can apply for the Ukrainian selection both with a song or as a singer without a song.
The rules of the selection are as follows:
- All participants must be between 9 to 14 years old.
- Soloists, duos and groups may apply.
- All participants must send a video introduction of themselves and videos of two cover songs.
- Participants may apply with an original song. Applying with an original song does not guarantee being selected for further rounds of the selection.
- Original songs must not have been released before May 1, 2025 and at least 60% of the lyrics must be in Ukrainian.
- If any participants who applied with an original song is selected for the final, Suspilne reserve the right to change the song.
After all the applications have been submitted and reviewed, a longlist of up to 15 artists will be published no later than July 22. These 15 artists will take part in a “Star School”, where they will train in performance.
Based on expert evaluations during the “Star School”, six finalists will be selected. In a change to the rules, the sixth finalist may be a group composed of several artists from the “Star School”. alyona alyona, who represented Ukraine at Eurovision 2024, will write entries for the finalists of the Ukrainian selection for Junior Eurovision 2025.
The final of the Ukrainian national selection for Junior Eurovision 2025 will take place in October. The winner will represent Ukraine in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Tbilisi.
