Ahead of the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, we had the opportunity to speak to Katarsis, who will represent Lithuania at this year’s contest.
We spoke with Katarsis in Basel after their first rehearsal on the Eurovision stage. We talked about how they felt performing for the first time on the big stage, how they think Europe will react to their music, and why they chose to submit “Tavo Akys” to the Lithuanian selection.
We thank Katarsis for their time and wish them the best of luck in Basel next week.
Katarsis were selected to represent Lithuania with “Tavo akys” after winning Eurovizija.LT. They won the fourth semi-final and both rounds of the final. They will perform 8th in the second semi-final on May 15.

Lithuania debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994, however on their debut they finished in last place with nul points. Lithuania didn’t return to the contest until 1999 when Aiste finished 20th with the song “Strazdas”. Lithuania’s best result came in 2006 when LT United performed “We Are The Winners”. They finished 6th in the final with a total of 162 points. Lithuania has only finished in the top 10 on two other occasions; in 2016 with “I’ve Been Waiting For This Night” by Donny Montell and in 2021 with “Discoteque” by The Roop.
