Gigi Restivo and Anna Gaspari will provide commentary for Sammarinese viewers in the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest.
The Sammarinese broadcaster SMRTV revealed its broadcasting plan. with Gigi Restivo and Anna Gaspari to commentate on the two semi-finals on May 13 and May 15, and the Grand Final on May 17.
Gigi Restivo is the official commentator of Eurovision, providing comments on SMRTV every year since the country debuted in 2008. For Anna Gaspari, it will be a new experience as successor to Lia Fiorio, who also provided comments since 2008.
As well as announcing the commentators, SMRTV also revealed that the three live shows will feature audio description and will be translated into international sign language (Italian, French, and German).
Italian DJ Gabry Ponte will represent the country with his song “Tutta l’Italia”. He will perform 13th in the first semi-final on May 13.
Who is Gabry Ponte?
Gabriele ‘Gabry’ Ponte was born on 20th April 1973 in Turin, Italy. Best known as a member of Eiffel 65, Gabry is a musician and DJ with an extensive musical career. During his time with Eiffel 65, he produced the chart-topping single “Blue (Da Ba Dee)”, and won “Best Italian Artist In The World” in the year 2000. He went on to produce several singles and remixes, including O-Zone’s “Dragostea Din Tei”.

San Marino debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2008 alongside Azerbaijan. On their debut, they were represented by Miodio and the song “Complice”, and finished last in their semi-final with just 5 points. San Marino withdrew from the contest before returning in 2011. Since then the country has participated annually and in 2014, they qualified for their first final. Since their first qualification, they have qualified for the final in 2019 and 2021.
