Destiny from Malta is the latest past Eurovision participant to be announced as performing at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025.
Junior Eurovision 2015 winner and Malta’s Eurovision representative in 2020 and 2021, is the latest artist announced as a guest performer for the 69th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. Destiny is one of four Eurovision 2020/21 participants to have been announced to date as performing in Basel as part of Eurovision 2025.
Destiny was among the favourites to win the Eurovision Song Contest in 2020 with “All of My Love” before the contest was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She would go on to represent Malta in 2021 with “Je me casse” where she finished 7th, scoring 255 points.
It is not yet known which live show Destiny will perform in.
During a press conference, SRG SSR revealed the first details about the Eurovision 2025 opening and interval acts.
The opening act of the first semi-final will feature 45 different artists. These artists will show different aspects of Switzerland; a traditional Switzerland, a modern Switzerland, a Switzerland of different generations.
During one of the shows, several past Swiss Eurovision entrants will perform together. Paola (Switzerland 1969 and 1980), Peter, Sue & Marc (Switzerland 1971, 1976, 1979 and 1981), Luca Hänni (Switzerland 2019) and Gjon’s Tears (Switzerland 2020 and 2021) will perform a medley that celebrates Switzerland’s Eurovision heritage.
The remaining opening and interval acts will be revealed over the coming weeks.
Eurovision 2025
Switzerland earned the honor of hosting Eurovision 2025 after Nemo triumphed at the 2024 contest with their song “The Code”. The song scored an impressive 591 points, 365 from the jury and 226 from the televote, securing Switzerland’s first victory since 1988.
The 69th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Basel on May 13, 15, and 17, 2025.
