SRF has revealed that the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 is set to be broadcast on the radio in all four national languages of Switzerland.
The Eurovision Song Contest returns to the radio in Switzerland for the first time since 2016. Swiss German language broadcaster SRF has announced that all four Swiss Broadcasting Corporation regional broadcasters will be airing the final of the 69th edition of the contest live from Basel on May 17.
Commentators for Radio SRF 3, La Première, Rete Tre and RTR Radio will guide viewers through the final from a glass box at the Messeplatz in the host city. The commentators are:
- Céline Werdelis (SRF 3) – German language
- Claire Mudry (La Première) – French lanuage
- Davide Gagliardi (Rete Tre) – Italian language
- Elias Tsoutsaios (RTR) – Romansh language
This year is the first time since 2016 that the contest has been aired on radio in Switzerland. SRF 3 last aired the final live from Stockholm. This also appears to be the first French-language and Italian-language radio broadcasts since the 1980s. RTR is airing the Eurovision Song Contest with Romansh language commentary for the first time.
Eurovision 2025
Switzerland earned the honor of hosting Eurovision 2025 after the Swiss artist Nemo triumphed at the 2024 contest with their song “The Code.” The entry scored an impressive 591 points, securing Switzerland’s first victory since 1988.
The 69th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Basel on May 13, 15, and 17, 2025.

Switzerland hosted the first Eurovision Song Contest in 1956 in Lugano, a contest that they also won. Lys Assia won the first contest with the song “Refrain”. It wasn’t until 1988 that Switzerland would win the contest again. Celine Dion won with “Ne partez pas sans moi” in Dublin, she beat the United Kingdom to victory by just 1 point. Switzerland won for a third time in 2024 represented by Nemo with “The Code”.
